Quartet “Per Aspera”

Concert proposals

Per aspera, a fragment from the well-known aphorism "per aspera ad astra" (through the difficulties to the stars) by Lucio Anneo Seneca, evoked this project where different sounds and colours meet themselves and musical suggestion, which are ideally inspired by the sea and the harbours of the Mediterranean sea, continuously melt together and wander.
The concert is fully based on original compositions by Giovanni Seneca, who creates his music with ingredients and element which are carefully selected from the musical genres he loves the best: tarantella, rumba and East European music.
In this concert Seneca makes his guitar play with clarinet, double bass and drums and he looks for the popular soul of music; a changing contrast of musical styles, citations and suggestions which, once summed up in a wholly personal style, touch on the moods and peculiarities of different cultures.
