Biography

Born in Naples in 1967, he was directed to the love for music by his father, who was an amateur accordion player, since he was a child. He started his musical career as a singer in 1972, when he won the finals of the musical contest for children "Girotondissimo", which was presented by Alberto Lupo and organised by Walt Disney and the magazine "Topolino" ("Mickey Mouse"), with an unpublished song at only 5 years old. In 1977 he moved to the Marche region where in 1980 he started the course of guitar at the Conservatory "Rossini" in Pesaro and in 1988 he graduated full marks with distinction. In 1989 he moved to Paris and he specialized at he Ecole Normale de Musique and at the Conservatory Ravel, where he obtained the specialisation degree in classical guitar, musical analysis and orchestration. During his stay in Paris he started composing and increased his concert activity which is always characterised by his desire to deal with the different languages of music. In 1993 he went back to the Marche and dedicated himself mainly to composition, writing and executing music for several chamber groups and orchestras, but also for television, cinema, theatre and commercials. His concerts and records have always been confirmed by national, international and specialised press. He was invited as a musical guest in many radio and TV programmes for Rai and France Musique. Both national and regional TV news dedicated to his activity plenty of reports. He makes all his experience come together in musical diffusion and training too. As far as diffusion is concerned, he is the artistic consultant and the creator of festivals like Klezmer Musica, Sconcerti and Adriatico Mediterraneo. As for training he is teacher of guitar at the Artistic and Musical High Training Institute G.B. Pergolesi in Ancona.


Concert Activity : he has performed in the main Italian cities, but also in Paris, Cannes, New York, Philadelphia, Tel Aviv, Sarajevo, Split, Belgrade, Smyrna and Durres. In April 2009 he toured New Zealand with 12 concerts. He performed as soloist for the following orchestras: RAI Orchestra Sinfonica of Rome, Orchestre des Concerts Lamoreux of Paris, Orchestre Symphonique Français of Paris, Orchestre Philarmonique of Cannes in the French Riviera, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana of Ancona, Orchestra Filarmonica of Udine. The great Italian composer Ennio Morricone wrote and dedicated to Giovanni Seneca a concert for guitar and orchestra whose world premiere was performed in Paris and recorded on CD together with Orchestra Nazionale Accademia di Santa Cecilia of Rome. He proposes concerts in ensemble with pieces of his own composition, but also as soloist in chamber groups and in concerts for guitar and orchestra.
